From the Group Chat: Julia Roberts’s “After the Hunt Press Tour,” Lux Pascal, and Netflix’s “Victoria Beckham”

EDITOR’S NOTE

Happy Sunday. After weeks of unseasonably warm — OK, straight-up summery — weather, I’ve honestly been looking forward to this cold, rainy, autumn-like weekend. Mostly because it’ll force me to, as the kids say, lock in and finally get my life in order. And by that, I mean…

Finally, while not as “essential” as the rest, I’ll also make it my mission to convince Gen Zers everywhere that under no circumstance should Kylie Jenner’s “performative bra straps” become a trend.

Deeply important information

🌊 Move over, denim maxis. Marissa Cooper’s favorite wardrobe staple is on the verge of a comeback — but this time, with a high-fashion rebrand.

🧥 Between these eight foolproof outfit ideas, and the rise of the effortlessly cool “twofer” dress, mastering the art of layering has never been easier.

💍 Oh, you thought asking wedding guests to buy a $400 stand mixer was presumptuous? Wait until you see just how unhinged registries have become.

💼 Do all your purses look like they’ve…seen some stuff? You’ll be glad to know the hottest handbag trend requires way less upkeep

❤️ No, it’s not your imagination: This controversial wearable has become the new Oura Ring. And, surprise, surprise, doctors are very meh on it.

I can't look away.
I Can't Look Away: Julia Roberts

In this week’s edition of Things We’re Extremely Here For: America’s Sweetheart has returned to Hollywood. OK, to be fair, she never really went away — but we haven’t been blessed with this much Julia Roberts in a long time. From the moment she wore her love of director Luca Guadagnino on her literal sleeve, we knew the After the Hunt press tour was going to be *chef’s kiss*. There was the blazer-and-jeans look seen round the world (or, at least, on Amanda Seyfried days later), the hot pink outfit repeat that somehow looks better now than it did in 2022 (perhaps it was the addition of an estimated more than $200K of bling), and this unexpectedly trippy homage to Shakespeare, paired with another Luca sweater (lest you forget, this is the woman who proudly wore a gown plastered with George Clooney’s face). Of course, she also rocked about 1,000 excellent gray power suits — some with her new favorite tie trend, inspired by her son, who, fun fact, recently borrowed his mom’s most memorable outfit of all time (we’re not jealous or anything).

But high-fashion isn’t the only thing Roberts is serving. The Rom-Com Commander in Chief also delivered some truly delightful interviews: She revealed what’s at the top of her to-do list now that she’s an empty nester (on behalf of the entire world: yes, please), the seven people — dead or alive — she’d invite for a night out (we did not see Jesus coming), which Julia Roberts movie is the best for fall (agree to disagree), and the truth behind “The Great Banana Bread Scandal of 2025.”  Plus, she dished on her After the Hunt costars, naming the one that left her “sweating” (relatable) and the actress both she and Ayo Edebiri were “scared” to meet. (Thanks to Edebiri, we also learned what it was like to slap “God’s gift to humanity.”) Still, there’s a couple questions no one has seemingly thought to ask: What was with tickling Travis Kelce’s chest? And, what did she think of Kelce’s Pretty Man idea? TBD, but something tells us she has enough sequels on her plate. After all, she recently dropped this My Best Friend’s Wedding 2 update, and Clooney hinted she may be on board for Ocean’s 1,756 — sorry, Ocean’s 14. Which we’ll obviously be seeing.

Wait, who is this nepo sibling?
Pedro Pascal and Lux Pascal

We rarely envy celebs — let alone their siblings. But Lux Pascal may be the exception. That’s because the actor, model, Juilliard grad, and self-described “luckiest girl in the f*cking world” happens to be the younger sister slash muse of objectively perfect sweetie pie Pedro Pascal. While the 33-year-old often accompanies her big bro to his premieres and award shows (obviously, he’s the perfect red-carpet dress handler) and even appeared alongside him in Narcos, Pedro was Lux’s plus-one this past week when she made her Paris Fashion Week debut in the out-of-this-world Chanel show (you can guess which Pascal was “tearing up”). But that modeling milestone is just the beginning. Lux, who came out as transgender in 2021, is also stepping into her first leading film role in Miss Carbón, a true story about a trans woman who became the first female miner in her Argentine hometown. Not to mention, she has two other projects on the horizon and the perfect idea for the reboot she and her brother should make. Hollywood, your move.

For better or worse, Nicole Kidman’s epic revenge bangs are inspiring haircut appointments worldwide.

Need something to watch
Victoria Beckham

Pour some red wine, throw on a little black dress, and prepare 2 become 1 with your couch: Victoria Beckham is back on the small screen. Two years after she (let’s be real, her childhood Rolls-Royce) famously stole the show in what was supposed to be a documentary about her husband, Posh Spice now has her own Netflix docuseries. The three episodes follow the designer as she prepares for the biggest fashion show of her career, with glimpses at her “awkward” childhood (sure), her years as a Spice Girl (Victoria, we salute you for saying the quiet part out loud), how she basically invented WAGs, and her evolution into a fashion powerhouse — which involved some, shall we say, questionable business decisions (we promise, you’ll never guess how much she spent on office plants). Without spoiling too much, we also find out who is really to thank for her involvement in the 2008 Spice Girls reunion, how she nearly landed on Donatella Versace’s permanent sh*t list, and which infamous ad campaign left her “horrified.” Directed by the same woman as Michelle Obama’s Becoming, we know what everyone (besides maybe Brooklyn and Nicola) is doing this weekend.

What are the clogs we like again?
Rothy's clogs

Rothy’s The Casual Clog

Caroline, senior commerce editor, here. I’m writing to you with these clogs on my feet — as they are 90% of the time. So, yes, they are worth the hype. They’re supremely comfortable, thanks to Rothy’s signature contoured footbed. They’re made with breathable merino wool, which will keep you cozy during colder months, but won’t make your feet sweaty (the worst). And the sturdy sole makes them the ideal indoor/outdoor shoe — I wear them to pad around the house and step out for errands. They remind me of the Stegmanns my mom has owned for decades, but these are even more elevated, due to the tortoiseshell detail along the outer sole. Oh, and did I mention you can throw them in the wash? That’s something I probably should do, since I’ve definitely treaded through some dirt patches while walking the dog.
